Ken Kohler - Division Director
As Director of Church and Institutional sales for Rodgers Organs of St. Louis, Ken Kohler brings over three decades of experience in church music ministry to the position. His first involvment in church music was at the age of eight when he began to play for his Sunday School. At the age of fourteen he took his first organist position. Ken went on to graduate from Houghton College, NY, where he received his Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance. After college he went on to teach at two colleges in Indiana. During his tenure at Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN, he pursued his Master of Music from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago.
It was during this time that he became interested in the use of the electronic organ as a substitute for the pipe organ. As part of his graduate work, he embarked on a major research project which resulted in studying the various companies who were producing electronic classic church organs. Of the companies he researched, only two remain today: Rodgers being one of them. Kohler chose Rodgers as the company that most adhered to the principles of classic pipe organ building. Kohler's experience in both winded and non-winded forms of organ building allows him to present a non-biased viewpoint to our clients.
For many years, Kohler has acted as organist or Minister of Music for a variety of churches throughout the Midwest. Currently he is active in the music ministry of Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church in Balwin, MO, where he assists with organ and choral work. In addition, he has presented workshops and recitals both locally and nationally.

- History
-
Our consultants have served churches, synagogues, educational institutions, and individuals throughout eastern Missouri and central Illinois for almost four decades. During that time we have built and installed both pipe and digital organs for churches of many different denominations. While we have served large churches seating 1,500 or more people, the bulk of our work is in churches with smaller congregations. Regardless of size, the quality of our installations remain the same. All installations, regardless of size, are designed with a custom approach to best serve the musical and worship needs of the individual church. As a result, we have partnered with more than 725 clients seeking the finest in digital and pipe instruments.
Since the early seventies, Rodgers Organs of St. Louis has continually represented the Rodgers Instrument Corporation of Hillsboro, OR. This company, now beginning its 53rd year of operation, has set the world standard for digital reproduction of pipe organs and is able to produce both standard specifications as well as completely custom specifications in order to meet the specific needs of our clients.
In addition to the finest digital organs, we have been at the forefront of the marriage between digital sampled pipe sound and actual wind-blown pipes. We have designed and installed more combination organs in our territory than any other builder. These installations may be found in both urban and rural areas, allowing churches of all sizes and denominations to have the option of wind-blown pipes for their congregation.
Rodgers Organs of St. Louis truly combines the centuries old art of organ building with 21st century technologies.
